🌟 Getting Started
Not at all! Our recreational classes welcome dancers of all levels — from complete beginners to more experienced dancers. Our instructors are skilled at meeting each child where they are and helping them grow at their own pace.
We welcome dancers starting at age 2! Our youngest classes are designed to be fun, playful, and age-appropriate — introducing children to movement, music, and rhythm in a warm, nurturing environment.
You can register online through our Parent Portal. If you're unsure which class is right for your child, feel free to contact us and we'll help you find the perfect fit.
Yes! We offer a trial class so your child can experience ATD before you commit. Click here to sign up for your complimentary trial class.
📅 Classes & Schedule
Our main season runs September through May, ending with a year-end recital. We also offer summer programs and short-session specialty classes throughout the year.
Most classes require a bodysuit and tights. Dance shoes appropriate to the class style are required (no street shoes on the dance floor). We have a dresscode and you can find class specific details there! If you're unsure, contact us and we'll let you know exactly what's needed for your child's class.
We understand life gets busy! For recreational students, occasional absences are manageable — just let us know. Please note that we are unable to offer refunds for missed classes but will offer makeup classes if we can based on availability and time of year. For competitive dancers, attendance is mandatory as it directly impacts the team.
Parents are welcome to wait in our comfortable lobby during class. We ask that parents do not enter the dance room during class time as it can distract the children. You'll be invited in for special showcases and performances on occasion!
Yes, classes are cancelled on statutory holidays. We communicate all closures via email in advance — please make sure your contact information is up to date so you don't miss any notices. All studio closures are factored into pricing.
🎭 Recital & Performances
Yes! Every dancer in our recreational and competitive programs performs in our year-end recital — a proper stage production complete with costumes, lighting, and music. It's one of the highlights of the season for both dancers and families!
Costumes are not included in tuition and are an additional cost. Details about costumes are shared with families earlier in the season to allow plenty of time to prepare.
For competitive dancers, the year-end recital is mandatory. For recreational dancers, participation is strongly encouraged — it's a wonderful experience for children to perform for their families and celebrate what they've worked on all year.
🏆 Competitive Team
All competitive placements are made by invitation only following an audition. We recommend our Audition Prep Program to help your dancer prepare. Auditions typically take place in June for the following season.
Part Time competitive dancers train 4–6 hours per week. Full Time dancers train 9–12 hours per week. All competitive dancers also attend 4 competitions between March and May, which run full days and may include weekend travel.
Yes — in addition to tuition and costumes, competitive dancers have a competition team fee, per-dance entry fees, hair and makeup kit requirements, and families are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs for out-of-town competitions. Contact us for full details.
